Dr. Stephanie Yurkewich is a Toronto native, who graduated from Western University in 2011 with Honours in Physiology/Psychology. She went on to pursue her Medical Degree from McMaster University School of Medicine, followed by her residency at St Joseph’s Health Centre through the University of Toronto. In 2016 she received her CCFP designation, allowing her to practice family medicine.

Since completing her medical training, she has been practicing both walk-in and family medicine in Toronto, as well as recently at the Student Health Centre at Brock University. In the near future, Dr Yurkewich is looking forward to transitioning from the urban core to full-time practice in the Niagara Region, the place she now calls home.

Dr Yurkewich is passionate about family medicine as it allows her to take a holistic approach to treating patients. She believes that the key to optimal health is through an active and healthy lifestyle, in addition to being proactive in treating ailments when they arise. She strongly believes in the benefits that allied medical practitioners such as chiropractors, physiotherapists and RMTs can provide to help patients reach their health goals. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Yurkewich enjoys hobbies such as running, golfing, tennis and yoga. She strives to stay involved in her community, and in 2017 was the co-chair of the Stay the Night board which hosted an event in support of St. Catharines’ Safe Beds program. Dr. Yurkewich looks forward to treating patients at the ProActive Centre, helping them overcome injury and stay healthy while living an active lifestyle.
